C4X Technology Architects is an MSP with deep expertise in the upper middle market, servicing significant and globally recognised brands across Australia. We are looking for a System Administrator with 5+ years of experience, ideally within an MSP environment along with supporting clients in automotive industry , who can take ownership of the day-to-day administration, support and improvement of customer infrastructure.
You will work across Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Active Directory, Windows Server, virtualisation, networking and endpoint management, while providing escalation support to our Service Desk and ensuring customer environments remain secure, stable and well maintained.
This role would suit someone who has worked across multiple SMB environments and wants to expand their experience into larger mid-market and enterprise environments.
Strong troubleshooting skills, infrastructure fundamentals and a willingness to learn are equally important to us.
What the role looks like
This is primarily an operational System Administrator role, with opportunities to participate in infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting customer environments, resolving escalated technical issues, proactively identifying problems and implementing permanent fixes.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day administration and maintenance of customer infrastructure.
- L3 escalation support for infrastructure, endpoint, identity and Microsoft 365 issues.
- Monitoring infrastructure health and addressing alerts, capacity, performance and availability issues.
- Server administration, patching, upgrades and lifecycle management.
- Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Active Directory administration.
- Supporting backup, disaster recovery and business continuity systems.
- Troubleshooting networking, virtualisation and infrastructure issues.
- Identifying recurring issues and performing Root Cause Analysis.
- Implementing automation and improvements to reduce manual administration.
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Supporting infrastructure projects, migrations and upgrades.
What you'll do
- Administer and support Windows Server environments, including patching, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and related Windows infrastructure services.
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including users, groups, authentication, access and security controls.
- Manage Microsoft Intune environments, including device configuration, compliance policies, security baselines, update rings, application deployment and endpoint hardening.
- Support and troubleshoot VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualisation platforms.
- Monitor infrastructure health, alerts, backups, capacity and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex endpoint, server, identity and infrastructure issues escalated by the Service Desk.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring or significant technical issues and implement permanent fixes.
- Support backup and recovery platforms and regularly verify successful backup operations.
- Assist with infrastructure changes, upgrades, migrations and technology refreshes.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across switching, routing, firewalls, Wi-Fi and VPN technologies.
- Use PowerShell and other automation tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce repetitive administration.
- Maintain accurate customer documentation, configurations, procedures and knowledge articles.
- Work closely with L3 engineers, providing technical guidance, escalation support and knowledge transfer.
- Participate in infrastructure improvement initiatives and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
- Work with vendors and technology partners where required to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in planned maintenance and after-hours activities when required.
What we're looking for — must-have
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in System Administration, Infrastructure Support or Systems Engineering roles.
- Previous experience working within an MSP environment.
- Experience supporting automotive industry, healthcare industry and construction industry
- Experience supporting multiple customer environments and managing competing technical priorities.
Microsoft 365 & Modern Management
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Intune, including:
- Device configuration
- Compliance policies
- Security baselines
- Update rings
- Application deployment
- Endpoint security and hardening
- Applocker Policies
- Working knowledge of Entra ID, authentication, MFA and Conditional Access.
- Experience with traditional Active Directory and Group Policy environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Autopilot

- Help improve the technical capability of the wider Service Desk.
- Automate repetitive administration wherever practical.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement and standardisation of customer environments.
Pay: $90,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
