Building on over 40 years of successful major project delivery, we are seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager to join our Brisbane-based team.
This role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager who enjoys influencing projects from the earliest stages of development. Initially focused within our Precontracts team, you will play a key role in securing major civil infrastructure projects across Queensland and interstate, contributing engineering expertise to bids valued at $300M+.
Working closely with estimating, commercial and executive leadership teams, you will develop winning engineering solutions, methodologies, staging strategies and constructability plans that position Bielby for success. Upon successful project award, there will be an opportunity to transition into a project-based Engineering Manager role, leading engineering delivery on major civil infrastructure projects in either metropolitan or regional locations.
This is an opportunity to help shape projects before they begin and then drive successful outcomes throughout delivery.
What You'll Do

Lead engineering inputs into major civil infrastructure tenders and project pursuits.

Develop construction methodologies, staging plans, temporary works solutions and project delivery strategies.

Drive constructability reviews and identify innovative solutions that improve project outcomes.

Partner with estimating and commercial teams to develop competitive and deliverable bid submissions.

Assess technical risks and opportunities throughout bid development and project planning.

Review design documentation and provide strategic engineering advice during tender stages.

Participate in client presentations, workshops and tender interviews.

Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary pursuit teams.

Transition into project delivery leadership following successful project award.

Lead engineering governance, design management and project engineering teams during delivery phases.
What You'll Bring
-
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

RPEQ, CPEng or equivalent professional accreditation.

15+ years' experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects.

Extensive Design & Construct project experience.

Strong expertise in constructability, temporary works, staging and project engineering leadership.

Experience contributing to major tenders and project pursuits.

Strong understanding of road, bridge, transport and civil infrastructure delivery.

Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project delivery risks.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
