Practice Manager – 12-Month Maternity Leave Contract

Part-time | 3 days per week | Fixed-term 12-month contract

Doctors @ Ormeau Town Centre is seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to join our busy medical practice on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering our current Practice Manager's maternity leave.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager looking for a part-time position, working 3 days per week, while still taking on an important leadership role within an established GP practice.

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, working closely with our doctors, nurses, administration team and practice owners to ensure the clinic continues to run efficiently and provide a high standard of patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the day-to-day operations of a busy GP practice
Leading, supporting and mentoring our administration and nursing team
Staff rostering and team coordination
Recruitment, onboarding and staff training
Managing practice policies, procedures and compliance
Ensuring compliance with relevant Medicare, RACGP, AHPRA, Queensland Health and privacy requirements
Managing practice finances, budgets and reporting
Overseeing Medicare and billing processes
Supporting doctors and clinical staff with operational requirements
Managing patient feedback, complaints and escalations
Coordinating suppliers, contractors and external providers
Overseeing practice systems and technology
Monitoring workplace health and safety and infection control
Supporting accreditation and compliance requirements
Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement
Ensuring the practice remains organised, efficient and patient-focused

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, organised, approachable and experienced in medical practice management.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

Previous experience as a Practice Manager within a GP or medical practice
Strong understanding of Australian general practice operations
Knowledge of Medicare billing and compliance
Understanding of RACGP standards and accreditation
Excellent leadership and people-management skills
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
The ability to confidently manage challenging situations
Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems
A proactive approach to managing day-to-day challenges
The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Doctors @ Ormeau Town Centre is a busy, established mixed-billing GP practice located in Ormeau.

We have a supportive and experienced clinical and administrative team and are committed to providing high-quality healthcare to our local community.
