Full Job Description

Deakin Dental Care is a general dental practice located in the affluent inner south Canberra suburb of Deakin looking for an experienced Dental Receptionist to join our team.

The practice is a busy 4-chair practice offering all facets of general dentistry including implants and IV sedations in the practice. It's a quick paced, dynamic practice and we need someone who be the face of the business.

About the role:

Take charge and run the reception area. It is a busy but extremely rewarding role as we do have some lovely patients so being able to be that friendly, regular face that is there for every visit is essential.
Manage bookings as per dentists requirements including confirming all appointments ahead of time.
Coordinate lab work and chase up on any outstanding work prior to patients coming in.
Manage payments and ensure all patients are charged correctly at the time of their appointment.
Support the Practice Manager by ensuring all facets of reception are done correctly and are up to date.
Be able to run a morning huddle with the entire team every morning and know what is happening at all times.
The role is ideally a full-time role as we need someone who is here on a full-time basis to help run the practice, but we are open to part-time hours for the right candidate.

About you:

Be well presented, friendly, welcoming and genuinely enjoy working with people.
Have 5+ years experience in a dental practice - we are open to experience from medical or allied health providers but ideally, having that dental knowledge would be very highly regarded.
Be mature in your attitude, demeanor and manner.
Be willing to support the Practice Manager by taking on more complex administrative tasks and allocating jobs to support staff as required.
Have strong, clear communication skills and be confident to communicate with dentists in concise, professional manner.
Want to work, it is a full on, quick paced role and you need to be able to multitask and take on the role. There is always support in a 2nd receptionist and the practice manager every day and you will never be left alone but the ability to manage competing tasks and not get flustered during peak periods is essential.

The role is available immediately with interviews happening as resumes are received. The hourly rate is also negotiable depending on experience.
