About the role
At The Commons, we're known for creating spaces where people feel connected, challenged and inspired. Now we're bringing that same energy to group fitness with the launch of three brand-new dance fitness concepts.
Think old-school aerobics energy, but modernised. Iconic playlists, brilliant instructors, and classes members genuinely can't wait to come back to.
We're looking for a team of instructors who want to help bring these concepts to life from day one. You won't be walking into a class that's already set in stone. You'll help create it, alongside a team of instructors who care as much about getting it right as you do.
About You
You're the kind of instructor people come back for. You know how to create an experience, not just deliver a workout. Music, movement and coaching all matter to you, and you know how to bring them together so it feels effortless, even when it isn't. You read a room well and adjust as you go, so everyone feels challenged and welcome no matter their level.
You're genuinely excited by the idea of building something new. You like collaborating, throwing ideas around, and helping shape a program rather than just following one.
Experience teaching dance fitness, step or rebounder is great, but we're just as interested in people with a background in dance, choreography or performance who bring energy and creativity to the room.
What you'll do

Deliver high-energy, engaging classes that align with The Commons' coaching style and member experience.

Help shape the programming, choreography and class flow as we develop the concept.

Curate playlists that combine nostalgic favourites with current tracks to create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Coach members of all fitness levels by providing clear instruction, progressions and modifications.

Create an inclusive, welcoming environment where members feel supported and motivated.

Build genuine relationships with members before, during and after class to foster community and encourage retention.

Prepare thoughtful class plans and ensure studios and equipment are presentation-ready before every session.

Trial new ideas, gather member feedback and continually refine the class experience.

Work collaboratively with the Head of Class Experience & Programming, Concept Lead and the wider instructor team to evolve the concepts as they grow.

Maintain the highest standards of safety, coaching and professionalism.
You'll bring

Experience teaching Aerobic Dance, Step, Rebounder or similar group dance fitness formats

A background in dance, choreography or performance

Strong musicality and an instinct for what makes a class memorable

Experience developing choreography or creative fitness programming

Confidence presenting ideas and collaborating creatively

A genuine passion for group fitness and creating a great member experience
