We’re Hiring | Marketing Officer – Social Media, Content & Events

Lighthouse | Sydney

Lighthouse is looking for a creative, outgoing and hands-on Marketing Officer to join our growing team.

Lighthouse is a professional and business community connecting professionals, businesses and opportunities across Australia. Through membership, business matching, recruitment, professional services and events, we help our members and clients build meaningful connections and create long-term value.

About the Role

This is a hands-on marketing role with a strong focus on social media, content creation, video and events.

You will be responsible for growing Lighthouse’s online presence, creating engaging bilingual content, supporting our events and helping build an active professional and business community.

We are looking for someone who is not only creative, but also outgoing, confident and comfortable engaging with people at events and in front of the camera when required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow Lighthouse’s social media channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook
Plan and create engaging content in English and Chinese
Create social media posts, stories, reels and short-form videos
Film, edit and produce video content for social media and promotional campaigns
Develop and manage social media content calendars
Create marketing materials for memberships, services, events and campaigns
Support the planning, promotion and delivery of Lighthouse networking and business events
Attend events to capture photos and videos and actively engage with attendees
Conduct short interviews and create engaging event content where appropriate
Produce timely post-event content, including photos, reels and event highlights
Encourage event attendees and community members to connect with Lighthouse across our social media and community channels
Promote Lighthouse memberships, services, events and relevant business opportunities
Engage with followers and help grow Lighthouse’s online and offline communities
Coordinate with members, speakers, partners and businesses to develop marketing content
Monitor social media performance and identify opportunities to improve reach, engagement and community growth

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Is fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin)
Is outgoing, confident and enjoys meeting and communicating with new people
Has a strong understanding of social media and current content trends
Is creative and has a good eye for engaging content
Is confident taking photos and filming short-form video content
Has video editing and basic graphic design skills
Is comfortable approaching, interviewing and interacting with people at events
Has strong written communication skills in both English and Chinese
Is proactive, flexible and willing to take initiative
Is organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Has strong attention to detail and a good sense of visual presentation
Is comfortable attending networking and business events, including occasional events outside standard business hours
Can work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team

Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite or similar content creation tools will be highly regarded.

Previous experience in social media, digital marketing, content creation, video production, events or community marketing will also be highly regarded.
