Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a rewarding career? Griffin Marine Services Pty Ltd, a leading provider of marine services to Defence and commercial operators, is seeking skilled Fitters to join our growing team.
We have casual and full-time opportunities available in our WA based team working across multiple sites.
As a Fitter with Griffin Marine Services, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing fitting duties on marine vessels and industrial equipment, including assembly, installation, and maintenance.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
- Conducting mechanical repairs and fault finding on various systems.
- Using a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ensuring work adheres to safety and quality standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Trade qualification (Cert III or IV) and hands-on experience in mechanical fitting, preferably in a marine or defence sector.
- A mature, logical, and methodical approach, with the ambition to step into leadership and/or mentoring roles.
- Strong knowledge of tanks, pumps, plant equipment, diesel generators, and engines.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently without direct supervision.
- Familiarity with isolations and permits systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to Workplace Health and Safety, supported by prior industry experience.
- An OHS Construction Induction White Card, Driver's License and eligible to hold a Defence Clearance Access Card (DCAC).
Desirable (but not mandatory) Requirements: Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Confined Space Entry, Dogging, Rigging, Fire Sentry Training, and Working at Heights certifications.
