Full Job Description

Payroll / Accounts Payable

Can be based in Noble Park, VIC or Silverwater, NSW

(4 days per week - 6 hours per day OR 5 days per week - 5 hours per day)

About the role
The Payroll Officer provides administrative support to the Finance team by assisting with the accurate and timely processing of payroll across Nationwide Group. This role focuses on maintaining our contractors payroll records, processing contractors payroll transactions, and supporting employees with payroll-related enquiries while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.

Process end-to-end contractor payroll accurately and within required timeframes.
Assist with payroll administration, including superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG withholding, terminations, adjustments, employee reimbursements and maintaining payroll records.
Process weekly and monthly contractor Recipient Created Tax Invoices (RCTIs).
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Provide administrative support for month-end reporting activities.
Assist with year-end payroll requirements, including STP finalisation, payroll tax reconciliations, audits and insurance reporting.
Respond to employee payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with onboarding new employees by maintaining payroll records and setting up payroll information.
Maintain accurate employee and payroll data within payroll systems.
Prepare regular payroll reports and assist with updating Power BI dashboards and other internal reporting.
Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline payroll administration and processes.
Work collaboratively with the Finance team and other internal stakeholders to support day-to-day business operations.
Undertake other payroll and administrative duties as required.

About you

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll processing and compliance.

Tertiary Degree in Business/Finance (desireable)
1-2 years of experience in a similar payroll role.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and experience with prior payroll systems.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
