Joining the Transmission Substations North, Operational Engineering team based at Wallsend and Cardiff depots, the successful candidate will provide support in the operation, maintenance and commissioning of zone and sub-transmission substations and intelligent distribution assets across the Hunter and Central Coast regions. The position provides a mix of technical engineering, project management and field support activities.
Key responsibilities of an Engineer in the TSN team include;
Project management of zone and sub-transmission capital construction/replacement works
Review and setting of 11kV protection systems and 11kV distribution network
Commissioning and engineering support for field-based crews in protection, voltage regulation and telecontrol systems
Planning and engineering support for substation maintenance activities
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in protection systems for electrical networks, commissioning substation equipment and project/works management. . You will have a wide range of engineering knowledge, both technical and hands on that you can apply to engineering solutions within the business.
Engineering degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent)
Proven experience within the electricity distribution or relevant industry, for works with protection, voltage regulation and telecontrol systems.
