We are seeking a highly capable Senior Governance Advisor to provide expert governance and secretariat support to the University Council, Academic Board and their committees. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the effective operation of governance processes through the preparation of high-quality committee papers, agendas, minutes, and related documentation.
This is a role where your work will be visible, valued and influential. You will play a critical role in supporting the University’s governing body and strategic decision-making.
You display strong judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to monitor priorities, projects, and initiatives, and provide advice and support to ensure outcomes are achieved. You enjoy working closely with senior stakeholders, and providing timely and professional advice while ensuring compliance with the University’s governance framework. You are able to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive and complex matters.
You will ensure the smooth operation of the University's governance framework through high-quality advice, coordination and administration. In the first 12 months in this position you will:

Collaborate directly with senior executives, Council members, academic leaders and student representatives

Lead governance initiatives that strengthen compliance, accountability and continuous improvement across the University

Contribute to legislative implementation projects, governance evaluations and election processes that help shape UniSQ's future

Prepare agendas, minutes, papers, action registers and governance records

Research complex issues and prepare reports, briefing papers and governance documentation to support informed decision-making
Your significant experience in governance, committee management or executive support related fields, paired with a relevant degree qualification or equivalent training and experience is essential to thrive in this position, as well as:

Strong analytical, research and report-writing skills with a focus on accuracy and quality

The ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and governance frameworks within a complex organisational environment

Proven discretion, professionalism and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

Salary: Total remuneration range $123,556 to $136,624 pa (includes salary range of $104,201 to $115,221 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
