The role

At Haileybury, we prioritise the holistic development of our students, recognising the crucial role that mental health plays in their overall wellbeing. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Psychologist to join our team at the Newlands campus, supporting Junior and Middle School students (Prep to Year 8). This is a fixed-term, full-time position commencing Monday 17th August, with on-campus attendance required during term time. The salary includes 4 weeks annual leave + 6 weeks paid term break leave per annum - all leave to be taken during school holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Provide exceptional counselling services for Junior and Middle School students whilst supporting staff in meeting the pastoral care needs of students
Conduct individual case management using a systems approach and referring on to outside providers as necessary
Maintain accurate and comprehensive client files which meet the requirements of the professional codes of conduct and legal obligations
Work collaboratively as a member of the team of psychologists at Haileybury to implement a whole-school approach to student wellbeing that builds resilience and connectedness and identifies opportunities for proactive and preventative programs
Attend parent/teacher meetings, Program Support Group (PSG) meetings, Pastoral Care meetings, and Future Student Interview meetings as required
Facilitate programs accessible to the broader school community, including through the delivery of professional development
Work collaboratively with members of the Individual Needs team in supporting submissions for funding, including Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Academic qualifications

APAC Accredited Master’s Degree, Combined Masters/PhD, Professional Doctorate in Psychology, completed 4+2 internship or completed 5+1 internship for general registration.
Psychologist registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency).
