Olivera is a waterfront Italian restaurant in Manly, Brisbane, focused on quality food, warm hospitality and creating a relaxed dining experience for our local community.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. This role would suit someone who takes pride in their food, works well in a fast-paced environment and wants to be part of a growing hospitality business.
The Role
As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for running your section efficiently and consistently while working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking dishes to Olivera's recipes and presentation standards
- Managing and taking ownership of your allocated section
- Completing daily mise en place and preparation
- Maintaining consistency, quality and portion control
- Assisting with service across other sections when required
- Ensuring food is prepared and served efficiently during busy services
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and kitchen organisation
- Following all food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures
- Monitoring stock levels and minimising food waste
- Receiving and correctly storing deliveries
- Communicating effectively with the Head Chef, kitchen team and front-of-house staff
- Assisting with training and supporting junior kitchen team members
- Contributing ideas and feedback to improve kitchen operations and menu execution
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Commis Chef ready to step up
- Holds relevant cookery qualifications or equivalent industry experience
- Has strong kitchen fundamentals and attention to detail
- Can confidently manage a section during busy service
- Works quickly without compromising quality
- Is reliable, organised and punctual
- Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
- Has a genuine interest in Italian and Mediterranean-style food
- Is available across evenings and weekends
Pay: $58,252.15 – $81,467.55 per year
