About the Opportunity
Digital Solutions is a value-motivated strategic IT partner for the University. Focused on delivering empowering digital experiences for our Students, Colleagues and Community. We work within a contemporary operating model and are modernising our technologies and ways of working to create value and build a digital future for Griffith.
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join our Reliability, Middleware and Integration team. The Platform Engineer works as part of a team to ensure the successful operation of application and integration technology platforms, minimising any disruptions that can impact client experience.
The Reliability, Middleware and Integration Team works to delivers secure, highly available, and observable application and integration platforms in conjunction with other infrastructure teams. In this role, you’ll be working with Infrastructure, Cloud, Cyber Security and Product Teams to support applications, integrations and release management.
About you
-
Oracle 19c RAC experience on RHEL including Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Manager)
-
Oracle Dataguard
-
MySQL administration on any unix platform (preferable on RHEL)
-
SQL Server 2016+ administration including experience with clustering/Always On
-
PostgreSQL on cloud or on Prem
-
Azure Cloud managing and supporting SQL databases
-
Experience with Jira and working in a Agile Environment is advantageous
-
Experience with Oracle Database management is a Must
-
Experience in Database Migration to Cloud Environments is advantageous
-
Experiences with Postgres FlexiServer and Azure SQL Server (DaaS, Managed SQL Server, SQL Database)
Systems Integration and Build Responsibilities:
-
Support, monitoring and provisioning of pre-production and production application and integration environments/platforms.
-
Work with projects, product teams and/or vendors to implement and/or support integrations between on premise systems or hybrid integrations with third party solutions.
-
Support, installation, configuration, upgrades and patching of applications.
-
Use observability tools to create checks, dashboards and surface key metrics to support product teams.
-
Use automated tools like Azure DevOps, Gitlab, Github for release management including pipeline creation/maintenance.
-
Use of IaC leveraging Terraform & Ansible for infrastructure and configuration management.
-
Automate repeatable processes.
Data Modelling and Data Analysis Responsibilities:
-
Cloud Platforms: Understanding of AWS, Azure Services, or OCI
-
Monitoring and Logging: Familiarity with tools like New Relic and Datadog
-
Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server, ProstgreSQL and MySQL databases.

Substantial experience in the Oracle technology including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN

What we can offer
This is a full time, fixed term opportunity for 12 months based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Salary
HEW 7 - Base range - $104,504.60 - $113,219.43 + 17% super. Full package range - $122,270.38 - $132,466.72.
