Step into a Senior Claims Consultant role with BHSI’s Accident & Health Claims team in Sydney. You will manage a portfolio of complex group personal accident, corporate travel, sickness, injury and related benefit claims, resolving matters with service, accuracy and pace.
You will make clear policy response, entitlement and reserving decisions, shape claim strategy and keep customers and brokers informed with practical, confident communication. You will also partner with underwriting, actuarial, legal and operations teammates to translate claim insights into continuous improvement.

- Own end-to-end management of complex Accident & Health claims in line with BHSI Claims Service Standards.
- Analyse policy response, medical and factual information, benefit entitlement and quantum promptly, fairly and with clear rationale.
- Assess exposure, set and maintain appropriate reserves, and report significant developments with commercial discipline.
- Drive investigations, medical reviews, rehabilitation input and resolution strategy by managing advisers, experts and vendors to achieve fair and commercially sound outcomes.
- Build trusted customer and broker relationships through responsive, professional and transparent claims handling.
- Provide technical leadership to the Claims team through peer review, file quality feedback and practical knowledge sharing.
- Share claim trends with underwriting, actuarial, legal and operations teammates to support portfolio insight and process improvement.

- Technical claims judgment: confident policy interpretation, entitlement assessment, reserving and claims decision-making in complex Accident & Health matters.

- Clear communication: the ability to translate technical and sensitive claim issues into concise, practical messages for different audiences.
- Commercial awareness: an understanding of how claim decisions affect customers, brokers, underwriting and portfolio performance.

Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant experience in Accident & Health claims, preferably including group personal accident, corporate travel, sickness, injury and related benefit matters.
- Experience managing complex or sensitive claims involving policy response, medical information, benefit assessment, investigation, negotiation or resolution strategy.
- Tertiary qualifications, ANZIIF membership, legal qualifications, medical, rehabilitation or other insurance-related credentials are desirable where they strengthen technical knowledge, claims capability or professional development.
