ABOUT THE POSITION
Job Title: Construction Project Manager
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to drive onsite construction for utility-scale solar farm projects based in Melbourne however requiring travel to worksites in Regional NSW and VIC. In this key leadership role, you will focus on improving constructability, safety, and installation efficiency while ensuring all works comply with WHS legislation and applicable Australian Standards.
You will manage the project programme, budget, quality, safety, and stakeholder relationships to ensure all works are completed on time, within budget, and strictly to specification. The position focuses on improving constructability, safety, and installation efficiency while ensuring full compliance with WHS legislation and applicable Australian Standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
· Plan, direct and manage project from mobilisation through delivery
· Develop and oversee the construction program, sequencing works as required
· Determine construction methodology and resourcing requirements for each project phase
· Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Contractor & Stakeholder Management
· Manage contractors, consultants, and subcontractors across all stages of construction
· Act as primary liaison between client, EPC, engineers and consultants
· Coordinate with design, procurement, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues
· Provide clear reporting on project performance to senior management and stakeholders
Compliance & Quality
· Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, including relevant Australian Standards and the National Construction Code
· Oversee QA/QC processes and inspection regimes across civil, electrical, and BESS interfaces where applicable
· Manage permit applications and liaise with local authorities and certifiers
Cost & Risk Control
· Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and performance targets
· Drive risk management and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle
· Manage variations, progress claims, and procurement schedules
Skills & Experience
· 3+ years' project management experience in construction or related fields.
· 4+ years' experience with utility-scale solar farm construction, renewables, utilities, or heavy industry.
· Solid understanding of WHS legislation, environmental regulations, and applicable Australian Standards.
· Excellent communication, problem-solving capability, and practical, site-based skills.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in remote or regional locations.
