About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Hotel Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of a high-volume hospitality venue.
This role is responsible for the overall performance of the venue, including food and beverage operations, functions and events, financial outcomes, compliance, and team leadership. The position requires a strong operational leader capable of managing a multi-department venue and delivering a consistently high standard of customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee all aspects of daily operations across bar, dining, kitchen, gaming, and functions
- Coordinate service delivery to ensure a seamless and high-quality customer experience
- Monitor and maintain venue presentation, service standards, and operational procedures
- Conduct regular operational audits and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Customer Experience & Venue Performance
- Drive a high standard of customer service across all areas of the venue
- Respond to and act on customer feedback to improve service delivery
- Build strong relationships with patrons, corporate clients, and the local community
Functions & Events
- Oversee the planning and execution of functions and events, including corporate events, weddings, and major calendar events
- Ensure appropriate staffing, resources, and operational readiness for all events
- Work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver successful outcomes
Financial Management
- Manage and achieve financial targets including revenue, labour costs, and expenses
- Oversee purchasing, stock control, and cost management
- Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability
People & Culture
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large, multi-disciplinary team
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
- Prepare and manage staff rosters in line with operational needs and budgets
- Foster a positive and high-performing team culture
Compliance & Licensing
- Ensure full compliance with licensing laws, WHS, food safety, and industrial relations requirements
- Maintain RSA/RCG registers and incident reporting processes
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities when required
Strategic & Business Planning
- Contribute to strategic planning and business improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue and enhance operational efficiency
- Participate in management meetings and drive execution of business objectives
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior hospitality management role within a multi-department venue
- Demonstrated experience managing high-volume food and beverage operations and events
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and KPIs
- Proven ability to lead and develop large teams
- Solid understanding of licensing, WHS, and employment obligations within hospitality
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality systems
Qualifications & Certifications
- Current RSA and RCG Competency Card
- Current First Aid Certificate
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary range: $80,000 – $85,000 + Super
Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
