Our Water group has an exciting opportunity to join an inclusive, vibrant, and growing dams team. Our team works seamlessly across multiple geographies embracing Jacobs culture of flexibility and global teaming.
We are currently looking for Dams Engineers of all levels to help us deliver our current pipeline of work and grow our future pipeline, through a range of dam safety projects with water authorities, local and state government, and mining clients.
In particular, we are working in partnership with Sunwater to support their Dam Safety Team to manage their ALARP program across their portfolio of 20 referable dams, focused on maintaining a safe, secure water supply for the region.
We are looking for people who understand dam safety and the challenges facing dam owners, and can work productively in a team to assess project requirements, undertake inspections, and advance projects through planning, design and construction phases.
You will be a dams engineer with a strong background in hydraulic structures including spillways, training and return channels, and energy dissipation structures. Experience with fish passage structures, or Computational Fluid Dynamics is desirable.
You will have an in depth understanding of design and safety of hydraulic structures, as well as the application of design analyses in risk assessment. You will be familiar with ANCOLD requirements, and dam safety legislation across all Australian jurisdictions. Familiarity with New Zealand and overseas dams standards is also favourable.
You may also have expertise that is transferable to support our waterway engineering and water infrastructure teams to balance and provide diversity in workload. You will be a Chartered Engineer, or working towards Chartership. Existing RPEQ/RPEV is an added benefit.
You will be a strong mentor who values training and growing junior talent as a part of a multidisciplinary dams team. You will also be comfortable in client-facing roles, managing inputs from a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ideally you will based in Brisbane, but Jacobs is open to any Australian capital city location.
