About the role:
This role of Corporate Lawyer is supporting our in-house legal team plays a central role in supporting the organisation's strategic objectives, managing legal risk, and ensuring compliance across all business lines. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated lawyer to join a small, collaborative internal legal team and gain broad exposure across not-for-profit governance, commercial law, regulatory compliance, privacy, and gaming.
Reporting directly to the Senior Legal Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, providing practical, solutions-focused legal advice on a broad spectrum of issues. This role supports the delivery of timely, high-quality legal advice to the organisation to help ensure the organisation’s operations comply with relevant legislation and are conducted within acceptable risk parameters.
What you’ll do:

Work with stakeholders across the organisation to provide clear, practical legal advice on day-to-day business matters

Review, draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, service agreements, deeds and confidentiality agreements

Help identify legal and commercial risks and support the business to manage them effectively

Keep across changes in legislation and regulation and help the organisation understand and respond to new requirements.
- Assist with privacy, governance and compliance matters, including regulatory reporting and corporate governance obligations.

Support the Senior Legal Manager to provide responsive, day-to-day legal support to internal stakeholders under supervision
About You:

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD), Current Practicing Certificate as an Australian legal practitioner
- Highly developed written communication skills with the ability to develop legal, policy and regulatory documents.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills that demonstrate a capacity to build and maintain relationships with leaders.
- Admission or eligibility for admission to the legal profession in Queensland with 2 to 5 years post admission experience in private practice or in-house.

Desired experience in a not-for-profit organisation or similar in-house legal teams.
