The Opportunity
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, helping to define, document and validate requirements that support reporting, analytics and enterprise data initiatives.
You will analyse business processes, source systems and data requirements, support data governance activities and drive successful adoption of reporting and analytics solutions across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business stakeholders to gather, document and validate business, reporting and data requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and working sessions to identify opportunities and business needs.
- Develop process maps, business rules, user stories, acceptance criteria and other requirements documentation.
- Analyse source systems, data structures, information flows and data quality issues.
- Create and maintain source-to-target mappings, data definitions and business documentation.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), report validation and defect resolution activities.
- Develop training materials, user guides and support documentation for business users.
- Assist with change management activities to support adoption of reporting and analytics solutions.
- Promote trusted data usage, data literacy and data-driven decision making across the business.
- Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, data scientists and operational stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
About You
You are a collaborative and analytical Business Analyst who enjoys solving complex problems and engaging with stakeholders across diverse business functions.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Business Analysis roles supporting data, analytics, BI or digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience gathering and documenting requirements, business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience within the mining, resources or heavy industry sector will be highly regarded.
- Experience analysing source systems, data flows, reporting processes and data quality issues.
- Proven ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting UAT, change management, training and solution adoption.
- Working knowledge of enterprise data platforms, data warehousing, lakehouse concepts or business intelligence environments.
- Exposure to SQL, Power BI, Excel or similar analytical tools will be highly regarded.
- Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- A pragmatic, outcome-focused approach with excellent planning and organisational abilities.
