Sacchi Contracting is looking for a reliable and experienced Vac Truck Operator / Labourer to join our growing team.
This is a full-time, hands-on role working across a range of civil, electrical, renewable energy and infrastructure projects throughout Far North Queensland.
We’re looking for someone who is safety-focused, reliable, takes pride in their work and looks after the gear.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining our HydroVac / Vacuum Truck, as well as assisting with general site duties when required.
Duties will include:
- Operating HydroVac and vacuum excavation equipment safely and efficiently Hydro excavation, potholing, debris removal and waste transport Daily pre-starts and vehicle/equipment inspections Basic maintenance and keeping the truck clean and well looked after Setting up and maintaining safe work areas Loading and unloading tools, equipment and materials Assisting other operators and crew members when required Completing work orders, timesheets, maintenance logs and safety documentation Following WH&S, environmental and company requirements Representing Sacchi Contracting professionally when dealing with clients and stakeholders
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
✅ Current Queensland HR Driver’s Licence ✅ Current Construction White Card ✅ Truck driving experience ✅ Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on outdoor work ✅ Reliable, punctual and able to work independently when required ✅ Good communication skills and a strong safety attitude ✅ Willing to travel throughout FNQ for projects when required
Highly regarded but not essential:
- Previous HydroVac / Vacuum Truck experience Civil or earthworks experience Excavator and/or skid steer tickets and experience Forklift Licence First Aid & CPR
