About the Role
We are seeking a practical, hands-on Research & Development Fabricator to support product development, testing, prototyping, and continuous improvement activities within our business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working with metal fabrication equipment, and contributing to the development of new products and systems.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to build prototypes, conduct testing, document results, and assist with the implementation of improvements across the business.
Due to the varied nature of the workload, the role may also involve supporting fabrication, manufacturing, and installation activities when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret SolidWorks & CREO detail drawings;
- Test equipment construction, including mechanical, electrical and pneumatic assembly;
- Responsible for equipment efficiency, maintenance and continuous improvement;
- Integrate electronic components and systems into products;
- Perform mechanical product research in a laboratory environment, including life testing;
- Execute test plans and document results so that problems can be reproduced;
- Generate test reports & summaries/conclusions to drive development;
- Verify and validate product development against actual product capabilities/requirements;
- Prototype production of test fixtures to compliment the testing process;
Role Requirements
- 2-3 years’ relevant experience;
- A trade background in mechanical or steel fabrication;
- Demonstrated skills in the manufacture of high precision mechanisms using manual manufacturing machine tools (turning, milling etc.);
- Experience with manufacture of components in various metals and polymers;
- Experience in the design and assembly of mechanical systems;
- Experience in maintaining tolerances in the manufacture of complex assemblies;
- Proven ability to rapidly grasp new technical concepts and find innovative solutions to challenging engineering workshop problems;
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (advantageous);
- Able to work in accordance with the drawing and issue controls defined by company systems and within ISO standards.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
