QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
The primary focus of the Business Readiness Manager is to ensure a smooth transition for employees, stakeholders, and teams as the program implements changes to processes, systems, and organisational structures, uplifting staff capability to adopt and sustain these new ways of working. This role will involve close collaboration with stakeholders to identify, document, and analyse business requirements, as well as design and refine future-state processes.
Duties and skills involve:
Leading B2E to ensure a successful change initiative, including embedding any required revisions to working practices with minimal negative impacts on service delivery.
Leading the strategy and planning of an effective change management program, including effective persona capture, change strategies and plans, communications, and training outcomes.
Using change impact and complexity assessments to identify where B2E changes require capability uplift beyond training and leading the response.
Leading and overseeing the effective engagement of key stakeholders including the QBuild Senior Leadership team and staff across impacted business units to ensure the achievement of the benefits associated with the implementation of new solutions.
Acting as the strategic engagement and communication conduit between the affected business units and the B2E team.
Overseeing change management activities (including communications and engagement) across multiple projects to ensure linkages and interdependencies between initiatives and projects, to align with the overall delivery schedule of B2E.
Ensuring that change management related risks and issues regarding the adoption of new business processes and systems are promptly identified and effectively managed through the agreed risk management strategies and initiatives.
Providing leadership to staff by fostering personal qualities including enthusiasm, professionalism, commitment, accountability, and demonstrated ethical behaviour.
Fostering an equitable and fair workplace ethos through the implementation of management standards, principles, and policies, including performance planning and review, recruitment and selection, training and development, workplace health and safety, and employment equity.
Technical / operation expertise:
Experience in delivering change strategy, planning, and leading the implementation of the change plan in a large-scale program.
Experience leading change management practitioners and building change networks to support adoption across dispersed teams.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and sound judgement in assessing change impact and complexity
Exceptional facilitation skills.
Experience in the use of Agile Project Management methodology.
Excellent time management skills.
Collaborative approach to problem solving.
Skilled in ability to shield the team from outside distractions and interferences.
