Lead the kitchen at one of Perth’s iconic riverside venues!
Located on the banks of the Swan River in Applecross, Raffles Hotel is a Perth icon with a reputation for great food, lively service and an unbeatable waterfront setting.
We’re looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen leadership team and help drive the day-to-day operation of this busy venue.
Raffles delivers a diverse food offering, combining modern pub classics with Italian influence, premium cuts from the charcoal oven, house-made pizzas and a strong functions and events operation.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in leading the kitchen team and ensuring every service runs smoothly.
You’ll be responsible for:
Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day kitchen operation
Leading and motivating the kitchen team during busy services
Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
Ensuring kitchen procedures, food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
Assisting with ordering, stock control and minimising food wastage
Supporting menu execution across pub dining, functions and events
Training and developing junior chefs and kitchen team members
Helping create a positive, organised and high-performing kitchen culture
About You
We’re looking for a confident and hands-on Sous Chef who thrives in a busy pub environment and enjoys leading a team.
You’ll ideally have:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or experienced CDP ready to step up
Strong commercial kitchen experience
Excellent communication and leadership skills
The ability to remain calm and organised during busy services
A strong understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance
A genuine passion for quality food and hospitality
The ability to work collaboratively with the Head Chef and wider venue team
