Retail Manager
Our client, ERINFAIR PTY LTD T/AS Bunbury Farmers Market, is currently seeking experienced Retail Managers to join their growing retail operations at two locations: Glen Iris (Bunbury Farmers Markets) and Vasse (Vasse Village by Bunbury Farmers Market).

Bunbury Farmers Market is a leading independent fresh food retailer based in Bunbury, Western Australia, with a second store located in Vasse. The business offers an extensive range of fresh produce, Market Made meals, and specialist departments, including Gourmet Butcher/Deli, Dairy, Groceries, Sweet and Savoury Pastries, and Café. Together with its partners Hancock Prospecting, Bunbury Farmers Market is continuing to grow as a respected regional employer, with future expansion plans creating further employment and career opportunities across Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicants will be responsible for:
- Lead the overall retail operation and ensure stores meet agreed sales, service, presentation, and performance standards.
- Set operational priorities, systems, and standards, and ensure department and store managers apply them consistently.
- Manage budgets, costing, labour expenditure, and operating costs to support profitability.
- Review sales, margin, stock, labour, and operational results, identify issues, and implement improvements.
- Lead, train, coach, and develop department and store managers so they can effectively lead their own teams.
- Oversee business-wide approaches to stock, purchasing, pricing, merchandising, workforce planning, and loss control.
- Maintain high standards of guest service, workplace health and safety, food safety, compliance, and store presentation.
- Work with senior management on business plans, supplier and stakeholder relationships, reporting, efficiency initiatives, and future growth.
What You Will Bring
- Demonstrated senior operational management experience within a retail environment, preferably across multiple departments or sites.
- Strong commercial awareness, including experience with budgets, costing, labour management, sales, margins, and operating performance.
- Proven ability to lead, train, coach, and develop department and store managers.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, including stock, purchasing, merchandising, workforce planning, service standards, and compliance.
- The ability to analyse performance information, identify issues, solve problems, and implement practical improvements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management, managers, team members, suppliers, and service providers.
- A strategic, accountable, and hands-on leadership style, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy and changing retail environment.
All relevant experience will be considered. Applicants with a relevant Australian qualification, or recognised training may be considered with less practical experience.
