Your new role - Import Coordinator
We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong focus on customer service to join our team full-time in the role of Import Coordinator.
The Import Coordinator is part of the Operations team and works closely with the WA Operations Manager. The role oversees the import process from initial order through to final delivery, coordinating a range of shipments including Air, Domestic, FCL, LCL and Breakbulk.
The Import Coordinator is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:
- Liaising with customers and overseas offices to coordinate import enquiries and shipments
- Registering import shipments in Cyberfreight and coordinating import clearance formalities with PFS Customs Broker
- Coordinating AQIS inspections and formalities
- Monitoring progress of customs and quarantine clearance via ICS and communicating the outcome to the customer
- Coordinating deliveries of customs released freight to destination with transport team.
- Completing billing process; timely and accurately coding of supplier’s invoices and preparing files for handover to PFS Accounts as per contracted rate agreements
- Assisting with tenders and competitive RFQ’s
- Delivering a high level of customer service
- Participating in general office and warehouse tasks as required
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Import Coordinator experience
- Knowledge of customs and freight forwarding terminology
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Customer Service experience
- Current Import air operations capability
- Confident in conflict resolution
- Advanced negotiation and relationship skills
- High level customer service skills
- Positive and professional attitude
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- High attention to detail and strong planning and organization skills
- Ability to priorities tasks effectively in a busy work environment
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Excellent working knowledge of Customs ICS and Cyberfreight computer system
