Group Head of Human Resources to join our Executive Committee (EXCO) and lead our people strategy into the future.
The Role As the Group Head of Human Resources, you will have total accountability for shaping how we attract, develop, and support our workforce across Australia. This is a high-impact, permanent executive position that perfectly balances strategic leadership with hands-on involvement.
You will lead the HR function, manage our training team, and serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive peers on all people-related matters, ensuring our organisational culture aligns with our commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Operational Leadership: Lead the overarching HR strategy and operations across multiple manufacturing sites and national branches as an active member of the executive team.
- Employee Relations & Compliance: Oversee complex investigations, legal matters, and workplace relations with full accountability for compliance, risk management, and sound dispute resolution.
- Rewards & Remuneration: Drive the design, implementation, and governance of competitive rewards, remuneration, and policy frameworks that engage our workforce and support business performance.
- Capability & Development: Lead and mentor the Training Team to ensure robust learning, development, and upskilling programs are embedded across all operations.
About You To be successful in this role, you will be a seasoned generalist HR leader who thrives in dynamic, multi-site environments. You bring strong executive presence, exceptional judgement, and a track record of partnering effectively at the board or EXCO level.
Preferred Requirements:
- Proven experience as a generalist HR leader managing the full spectrum of HR functions across multiple locations or distinct business units.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee investigations and sensitive legal matters with strict discretion.
- Deep knowledge of Australian employment law, modern awards, compliance obligations, and industrial relations.
- Track record in designing frameworks for rewards, remuneration, and strategic workplace policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
- Professional HR accreditation (e.g., AHRI membership or equivalent).
- Extensive experience within manufacturing, heavy industry, or multi-site operational environments.
