About the role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support design review and onsite construction of utility-scale solar farm projects based in Dubbo. The role focuses on improving constructability, safety, and installation efficiency while ensuring all works comply with WHS legislation and Australian Standards.
Key responsibilities
- Review mechanical designs for constructability, installation efficiency, and safety enhancements.
- Provide practical feedback to design teams and assist in developing installation procedures.
- Oversee onsite mechanical construction activities including mounting structures and tracking systems.
- Work closely with construction managers to estimate material needs, team size and machinery requirements for projects
- Ensure all works comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant Australian Standards.
- Perform and analyse structural pile load testings as per Australian standards
- Promote and enforce safe work practices, SWMS compliance, and WHS requirements.
- Oversee and carry out quality assurance control on all finished work ahead of handing over to the client to ensure all are within agreed specifications
- Manage fleet and machinery servicing and maintenance, ensuring maintenance paperwork is kept up to date
- Ensure appropriate tooling is selected for mechanical installations
- Attend meetings and briefings and communicate with contractors and clients as required
About you
- Certificate IV, Diploma, or similar qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Technology.
- Experience in construction, renewables, utilities, or heavy industry.
- Strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings and provide hands-on technical support onsite.
- Solid understanding of NSW WHS legislation and applicable Australian Standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving capability, and practical site-based skills.

Pay: $100,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
