We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Night Manager to lead our overnight operations and be the key contact for all stakeholders throughout the night.
About the role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will independently oversee the hotel during the overnight shift, ensuring safety, security and a seamless guest experience while completing the night audit and balancing the day’s business. This is a full‑time position working overnight shifts only, including weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
The right candidate is a genuine night owl who thrives when the city is quiet, comfortable working autonomously and confident to make decisions on behalf of the management team.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as Manager on Duty overnight, responsible for the hotel and all guest queries.
- Manage front office operations: late check‑ins, early departures, phone calls, reservations changes and guest requests.
- Conduct the full night audit process: reconcile and cross‑check daily revenue, roll the PMS, balance accounts and prepare accurate end‑of‑day and handover reports.
- Complete regular property walks, monitor CCTV and ensure the security and safety of guests, staff and hotel assets at all times.
- Take charge of any overnight incidents or emergencies, including; fire alarms, evacuations, first‑aid situations and other safety issues, in line with hotel procedures and legislation.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and support Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B and Maintenance to ensure smooth day–night handover.
- Maintain accurate records, logs and incident reports, ensuring clear communication and handover to the day team across the hotel.
- Ensure adherence to brand standards, cash‑handling procedures, audit requirements and all relevant policies and regulations.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience as a Night Manager, Assistant Manager, Senior Night Auditor or Front Office Supervisor within a hotel environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently overnight, take ownership of the property and confidently make decisions under pressure.
- A genuine night owl, reliable for ongoing overnight shifts.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and how departments interact.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills, with solid problem‑solving ability.
- Solid numerical and administrative skills, with experience in night auditing, data handling, reconciliations and reporting.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Mandatory: Opera PMS experience, current RSA, current First Aid certificate, Full Australian working rights and availability across overnights, weekends and public holidays.
- Highly regarded: experience with Shiji/Infrasys and ARIEL, and a degree in Hospitality Management or other relevant field
