Sunburst Food Group is an independent hospitality group operating three distinct venues across the Blue Mountains :Café Lurline, Smokey Bundits and Taquería Arriba.
We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded and hands-on Group General Manager to lead our operations across all three venues and help take the group into its next stage of development.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who can lead through managers, understand the numbers behind successful hospitality businesses, build strong systems and take genuine ownership of performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations across all three venues
- Lead, coach and hold venue managers accountable for performance
- Oversee staffing, rostering and labour-cost management
- Monitor sales, labour %, COGS, waste, average spend and controllable expenses
- Review venue performance against budgets and agreed targets
- Improve operating systems, procedures, reporting and accountability
- Oversee stock control, purchasing and supplier performance
- Maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness, food safety and compliance
- Manage guest feedback and ensure effective complaint resolution
- Coordinate marketing, promotions, events and local partnerships
- Conduct structured management meetings and ensure agreed actions are completed
- Identify operational and financial risks and implement practical solutions
- Build management capability so venues operate effectively without constant owner involvement

About You
You will ideally have:
- Significant senior hospitality management experience, preferably across multiple venues or concepts
- Demonstrated experience growing or scaling hospitality operations
- Strong knowledge of restaurant P&Ls, budgeting and forecasting
- Strong labour, food and beverage cost-control experience
- Proven experience leading and developing managers
- Strong commercial judgement and problem-solving ability
- Experience with POS, rostering, reservations and reporting systems
- Sound understanding of Australian workplace requirements, WHS, food safety and RSA
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- The confidence to address underperformance and have difficult conversations when required
- Availability to work across the operating week, including some evenings and weekends when business needs require it

You are commercially sharp while still understanding genuine hospitality. You’re hands-on and visible when required, but you know how to lead through managers rather than becoming the permanent shift replacement.
You’re calm under pressure, organised, accountable and consistent with follow-through.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
