Band 3A | Casual: $43.09 p/hr, inclusive of 25% casual loading
Band 3A | Temporary Part Time – 20 Hours per week (24 August 2026 to 18 December 2026): $34.47 p/hr
We’re looking for enthusiastic and community-minded Venue Services & Customer Support Officers to join our team at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium (GRISS).
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and their community and wants to build a broad range of skills across customer service, hospitality, café operations, event support, recreation programs, administration and venue operations. Whether you are looking to develop your career in sport and recreation, community facilities, hospitality, events or customer service, this role offers valuable hands-on experience within a large multipurpose community facility.
You'll play an important role in creating positive experiences for visitors, sporting groups and community members while supporting the day-to-day operations of the venue and café, community programs, sporting competitions, a variety of venue bookings and major events.
Competition administration is a key component of two of the advertised positions, including fixture coordination, team communications and umpire rostering for the GRISS Thursday Night Netball Competition.

What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver friendly and professional customer service across the front counter, phone, email and face-to-face enquiries.
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the venue and café, including food and beverage service and maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors.
- Support the delivery of community programs, sporting competitions, venue bookings, major events and school holiday activities.
- Assist with venue bookings, registrations, administration and operational tasks to support the smooth running of the facility.
- Process sales and financial transactions through Council systems and point-of-sale platforms.
- Help create positive experiences for facility users, community groups, sporting organisations, event patrons and visitors.
- Work alongside the venue team to ensure facilities, equipment, café areas and event spaces are well presented, safe and ready for use.
- Contribute to competition administration duties, with two positions responsible for supporting the delivery of the GRISS Thursday Night Netball Competition through fixture coordination, team communications and umpire rostering.

You bring strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, enjoy working collaboratively, and are keen to develop experience across customer service, hospitality, café operations, events, recreation programs, competition administration and venue operations.
You are reliable, adaptable and willing to take initiative, with the ability to manage a variety of tasks and priorities across a large multipurpose facility. You are also flexible and available to work across evenings and weekends to support venue and café operations, sporting competitions, programs and major events.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service in a professional, friendly and welcoming manner
- Strong administration, cash handling and computer skills, including the ability to accurately manage bookings, records and point-of-sale transactions
- Hold, or be willing to obtain and maintain, relevant qualifications and licences including First Aid, Food Handling, Food Safety, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Barista certification
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, showing initiative, reliability and flexibility to support programs, events and daily operations
