About the Role
As a Panel Beater at Mercedes-Benz Melbourne, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accident repairs in accordance with Mercedes-Benz Autobody standards, OEM specifications, and insurance requirements.
You will be responsible for completing structural and cosmetic vehicle repairs, ensuring damaged vehicles are restored to their pre-accident condition through the use of correct repair methods, technical expertise, and quality workmanship.
Working as part of our professional Autobody team, you will collaborate closely with Estimators, Panel Shop colleagues, Painters, Detailers, and the Workshop Controller to support an efficient workflow and ensure vehicles are completed to the highest standard.
A key focus of this role is achieving "first time right" repairs, while maintaining productivity, repair cycle times, safety, and the high standards expected of a Mercedes-Benz Autobody operation.
Key Responsibilities
Complete structural and cosmetic panel repairs to Mercedes-Benz Autobody standards and OEM specifications- Assess vehicle damage and apply the correct repair methods and techniques
- Remove, repair, replace, align, and fit vehicle body components as required
- Ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently, minimising rework
- Work within expected productivity and repair cycle time targets
- Accurately complete job cards, repair notes, parts requirements, and time allocation
- Follow OEM repair procedures, insurance requirements, and workplace safety standards
- Work collaboratively with Estimators, Panel Beaters, Painters, Detailers, and Workshop Controllers
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
- Correctly use and maintain workshop tools and equipment
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives
- Support a positive, professional, and team-focused workshop culture
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Panel Beater with relevant trade qualifications- Previous experience in an autobody, smash repair, or automotive repair environment
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair techniques and processes
- Ability to complete quality repairs in accordance with OEM specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to "first time right" workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently and meet productivity and repair time expectations
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Ability to accurately complete repair documentation and job cards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Current Australian driver's licence
