About us:
With significant redevelopment and expansion underway, Rockhampton Hospital's cardiac services are set to become a regional centre of excellence and major referral hub for Central Queensland. The service will include a new state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory with six recovery beds, a dedicated transoesophageal echocardiography and cardioversion procedure room, an expanded Cardiac Investigations Unit and a new 12-bed cardiology ward. Our team uses a multidisciplinary model to deliver integrated specialist care across the cardiac care continuum, providing comprehensive diagnostic, procedural, inpatient and outpatient services through:

About the role:
Deliver comprehensive, person-centred cardiac nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, responding confidently to changes in patients' conditions.
Practise with professional autonomy and accountability, working within NMBA standards, legislation, CQHHS policies and evidence-based clinical practice.
Collaborate across the multidisciplinary team, working closely with Nursing, Medical and Allied Health professionals and coordinating care to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Support education, development and continuous improvement, providing education to patients, families and colleagues while contributing to learning, quality improvement and policy activities.
Demonstrate leadership and evidence-based practice, incorporating current research into care, contributing to improved care pathways and acting as a team/shift coordinator when required.
About you:
Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration, with a cardiac nursing postgraduate qualification or willingness to work towards would be well regarded.
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while responding safely to rapidly changing patient needs.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, working effectively with patients, families, Nursing,
Commitment to professional practice and improvement, demonstrating critical thinking, ongoing professional development and evidence-based care.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $128,480 p.a. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $44.27 - $56.79 p.h.
