Are you looking for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? Ayers Rock Resort is searching for a
Land and Environment Manager to live and work onsite at Yulara, NT, just 20 minutes from Uluru, one of Australia's most iconic and culturally significant landmarks.
We're looking for an experienced and passionate environmental leader to oversee the Resort's land management, environmental sustainability, waste services, and recycling programs. In this hands-on management role, you'll help protect the unique natural environment surrounding Ayers Rock Resort while leading operational teams and driving sustainability initiatives that support the Resort's long-term environmental goals.
Key Duties
- Lead and manage the Resort's environmental, land management, waste management and recycling programs.
- Oversee landfill and transfer station operations, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and company policies.
- Develop, implement and monitor sustainability initiatives and environmental improvement programs.
- Provide expert environmental advice to Resort Management to minimise risk and improve environmental performance.
- Manage recycling, composting and green waste programs while identifying opportunities to increase diversion from landfill.
- Coordinate environmental compliance activities, site inspections, contractor engagement and reporting requirements.
- Oversee animal management programs, including permits, pest management and wildlife-related callouts.
- Champion environmental awareness through presentations, stakeholder engagement and participation in environmental initiatives and community events.
What You'll Need
- Experience in environmental management, land management, waste services or a similar operational leadership role.
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Studies or a willingness to obtain relevant qualifications.
- A minimum of four years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance requirements and sustainability practices.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate and support diverse teams.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Current NT Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying and sometimes extreme environmental conditions.
