Practice Nurse / Medical Receptionist
Sun Skin Cancer Clinic – Kelmscott, WA
Sun Skin Cancer Clinic is seeking a friendly, organised and reliable Practice Nurse / Medical Receptionist to join our new skin cancer clinic in Kelmscott.
This is a varied role combining clinical nursing duties with reception and administrative support, and would suit someone who enjoys both patient care and working as part of a small, professional medical team.
About the Role
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting doctors with skin cancer procedures and minor surgery
- Preparing procedure rooms and equipment
- Wound care, dressing changes and suture removal
- Patient observations and clinical documentation
- Infection control and instrument sterilisation
- Providing patients with pre- and post-procedure instructions
- Assisting with stock control and maintaining clinical supplies
- Reception duties including answering phones and greeting patients
- Making and managing appointments
- Processing Medicare and private billing
- Managing patient records and general administrative duties
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- A Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Friendly, professional and confident communicating with patients
- Well organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently as well as within a small team
- Confident using computers and medical practice software
- Reliable and committed to providing excellent patient care
- Able to maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards
Experience in general practice, skin cancer medicine, dermatology, minor procedures, wound care or medical reception would be highly regarded, although appropriate training can be provided to the right candidate.
Experience with medical practice software and Medicare billing would also be advantageous.
