About the role
Join Eastern Health in 2027 and gain the experience, mentorship, and exposure needed to strengthen your pathway toward GSET/SET training.
This position is specifically designed to provide a foundation for progression into the GSET and sub-specialty training programs, offering focused experience and career development opportunities across the following areas:
Formal Academic Teaching program and Grand Rounds
Teaching (8 formal Monash University positions, meeting criteria for GSET application)
Research - weekly research group, sub-specialty research opportunities
GSET interview preparation program
Various hands-on Workshops
Mentoring program
Possible rotations include:
Acute General Surgery - Box Hill
Acute/Elective General Surgery - Maroondah, Angliss & Blackburn
Colorectal Surgery - Box Hill
UGI/HPB Surgery - Box Hill
Vascular Surgery - Box Hill
Breast & Endocrine Surgery - Maroondah
ICU
General Surgery - Nights
Relieving - General Surgery, Vascular, Plastics, ENT, Urology
Rural rotations Albury Wodonga Health or Bairnsdale Health
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Current Registration with AHPRA or Eligibility for Provisional Registration with AHPRA (Limited Registration is not accepted)
Passionate about pursuing a surgical career
