Due to continued business growth and future expansion plan, we are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the retail store to ensure efficient workflow, appropriate
staffing levels and a consistently high standard of customer service.
- Determine the range of fresh produce, grocery items and specialty products to be stocked, taking into account seasonal availability, customer demand, market trends and sales
performance.
- Monitor inventory levels, arrange stock replenishment, coordinate deliveries with
suppliers, and ensure the freshness, quality and effective stock rotation of perishable
products while minimising stock loss and wastage.
- Negotiate with suppliers regarding product availability, pricing and delivery schedules to
ensure adequate stock and competitive retail pricing.
- Develop pricing strategies and coordinate promotional activities, including seasonal
specials, in-store displays and marketing initiatives to increase sales.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements, purchasing activities, sales performance
and other operational data.
- Prepare and monitor store budgets, review operating expenses and sales results, and
recommend measures to improve profitability.
- Recruit, train, supervise and roster retail staff, monitor staff performance and ensure
customer service standards are consistently maintained.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints relating to products and services in a
timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety requirements, food safety standards and
company policies, including the safe handling and storage of fresh produce.
- Coordinate merchandising and product displays to optimise product presentation,
enhance the customer shopping experience and maximise sales opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve retail operations and implement business initiatives
that enhance operational efficiency, customer satisfaction and overall business
performance
Skills and Experience
- A relevant qualification in Business, Retail Management or a related discipline, or
equivalent relevant industry experience, will be highly regarded.
- At least one year of recent experience in a retail management or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management and merchandising.
- Experience in staff supervision, rostering and team leadership.
- Sound communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
