Baker – Part-Time
Gliko Cakes | Hampton, Melbourne2–3 days per week
Gliko Cakes is looking for a reliable and experienced baker to join our friendly team in Hampton. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen and takes pride in producing delicious, consistently high-quality products.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and bake cakes, cupcakes, brownies, cookies and other sweet products.
- Follow Gliko Cakes recipes, production lists and presentation standards.
- Make buttercream, fillings, batters and other components.
- Assist with basic cake assembly, decorating and finishing.
- Monitor stock levels and help prepare ingredient orders.
- Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen.
- Label, store and rotate ingredients and finished products correctly.
- Complete daily production within required timeframes.
- Work closely with the cake decorators, kitchen team and store manager.
- Assist with seasonal products and large customer or corporate orders.
About you
- Previous baking or commercial kitchen experience is preferred.
- Confident preparing products in larger quantities.
- Able to follow recipes accurately and produce consistent results.
- Reliable, punctual, organised and able to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and presentation.
- Comfortable working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
- Able to lift ingredients, equipment and trays as required.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help the wider team.
Cake decorating experience is helpful but not essential.
Position details
- Part-time or casual position.
- Approximately 2–3 days per week.
- Daytime and early-morning shifts may be required.
- Some weekend availability may be required during busy periods.
- Located at Gliko Cakes in Hampton.
- Pay will be based on experience and the applicable award.
