Urgent Hiring - Disability Support Worker

Anchor & Aim Support Services is seeking a warm, reliable and neurodiversity-affirming support worker to provide flexible one-to-one support to an adult NDIS participant.
This role may suit someone who enjoys meaningful community-based support and is looking for a small number of flexible hours around other work, study or commitments.
The role may include:
- Attending appointments, activities and events
- Community access and social participation
- Occasional home-based support
- Driving the participant’s vehicle or using your own suitable vehicle
- Loading and transporting a manual folding wheelchair
- Providing calm, respectful and person-centred support
- Supporting the participant to maintain independence and choice
Preferred Availability:
- Monday: Day / Afternoon
- Tuesday: Day / Afternoon / Evening
- Wednesday: Day / Afternoon
- Thursday: Day / Afternoon / Evening
- Weekends: Open to availability
- Additional ad-hoc support: Approximately 3–4 hours per week
You do not need to be available across every listed time. Please let us know the days and times that genuinely work for you.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Female, preferably in her 20s–40s, in line with the participant’s stated preference
- Strong English communication skills, as requested by the participant.
- Neurodiversity-affirming
- LGBTQIA+ / queer-friendly
- Warm, respectful and dependable
- Comfortable around chickens inside the home
- Comfortable loading a manual folding wheelchair
- A confident driver with a full driver’s licence
- Comfortable providing both community-based and occasional home-based support
Previous experience providing neurodiversity-affirming community access, personal support or disability support is strongly preferred.
What you’ll need:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Australian working-rights evidence
- Full driver’s licence
