What you'll be doing
This position resides within the finance department. The department provides financial support to the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (Randwick and Westmead) and produces financial reports in accordance with legislative &Ministry of Health requirements. Whilst the department is located at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, you may be required to work at the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick on the occasion.
The position is broad ranging from preparing &posting journals, completing reconciliations, fielding financial enquiries from departments, maintaining financial schedules to monthly financial reporting and analysis, budget management, taxation compliance and administrating restricted financial assets &private practice trust funds.
Whilst training will be provided, the successful applicant must have accounting experience and be able to display they are a quick learner.

A degree in Accounting or nearing completion and/or recent accounting industry experience.

Experience in a major accounting system with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Proven experience in reconciliations and analytical skills.

Effectively managing time and competing priorities to meet deadlines.

Able to work independently and adapt to new challenges.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner, including ability to train staff in financial matters and systems.
