As the Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 – McGrath Lung Cancer Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering person-centred care to people diagnosed with lung cancer across their treatment journey working primarily in the Shoalhaven region. Working autonomously and in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive clinical assessment, care coordination, education, advocacy and ongoing support to patients and their families. You will apply advanced clinical expertise to manage complex care needs, provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of evidence-based lung cancer services in line with the McGrath Foundation’s Model of Care. As a recognised clinical expert, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community providers, provide consultancy and leadership to healthcare professionals, contribute to service development and strategic planning, and champion excellence in clinical practice, education and research in line with the ISLHD's CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment and McGrath Foundation’s Model of Care.

Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital is the main referral hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical, mental health and orthopaedic services. The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on ventilated, high dependency and coronary patients, Children’s Ward and Maternity Unit, as well as a purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre.
The hospital is currently undergoing a significant $440M redevelopment that will redefine how healthcare is delivered within the Region. Once complete in 2026, the new seven-storey Acute Services Building and refurbishments on the current hospital site will bring a focus on career development. allowing you to grow your career, acquire new skills and advance professionally as the hospital continues to develop. Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Registered nurse with a current licence to practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current NSW Driver's License (if required by service).
- Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field of Respiratory or Cancer related discipline. Post graduate qualifications either- Acute Care Nursing (with an interest in Respiratory) and /or Cancer Nursing.
This is a temporarily funded position until 30 June 2029 with the possibility of an extension subject to funding.
