CIMC Wetrans Australia is seeking a professional and reliable Owner Truck – Car Carrier to join our expanding automotive logistics division based in Melbourne.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced owner operator looking for consistent, ongoing work transporting new, used and fleet vehicles throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for contractors who take pride in safety, customer service and delivering vehicles on time.

About the Role
As an Owner Truck – Car Carrier, you will be responsible for:
- Safely transporting vehicles between ports, dealerships, auction houses, warehouses and customer locations.
- Loading, securing and unloading vehicles in accordance with industry safety standards.
- Conducting daily vehicle and equipment safety inspections.
- Completing electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation and transport paperwork.
- Maintaining regular communication with our Operations team regarding delivery schedules and job updates.
- Ensuring all vehicles are handled with the highest level of care to prevent damage.
- Managing delivery schedules while meeting customer service expectations.
- Representing CIMC Wetrans Australia professionally at all customer sites.
- Complying with all Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR and road transport legislation.
- Maintaining a clean, roadworthy and well-presented vehicle.

Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Your own registered and roadworthy car carrier truck.
- Current Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Appropriate Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR, HC or MC depending on vehicle configuration).
- Previous experience operating a car carrier truck.
- Current Heavy Vehicle Driver Medical (if applicable).
- Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance.
- Public Liability Insurance.
- Marine Transit or Goods in Transit Insurance (preferred).
- Workers Compensation insurance (where applicable).
- Strong knowledge of Melbourne metropolitan and Victorian road networks.
- Sound understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Regulations and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with dispatch.
- Smartphone capable of running transport management applications.
- Full Australian working rights.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience transporting prestige, luxury or high-value vehicles.
- Experience transporting electric vehicles (EVs).
- Knowledge of vehicle inspection reporting systems.
- Experience working within automotive logistics or dealership transport.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Current Forklift Licence (advantageous but not essential).
- White Card (desirable).
