About the role
Lifeblood is seeking an exceptional Director of Procurement to lead and transform its Procurement & Supplier Management function at a time of significant opportunity and strategic importance. Reporting to the CFO, as a member of the Finance & Corporate Leadership Team, you will provide exceptional leadership to a team of 23 across Category Management, Contracts & Transactions and Supplier Relationship Management.
You will set the strategic direction and provide clarity to the team, partnering with Executive Directors and senior leaders to deliver its strategic objectives through commercial excellence, cost efficiency, productivity and strong, accountable business processes. A key goal is to ensure the function is positioned as a trusted and influential partner across Lifeblood.
This is an opportunity to lead a critical enterprise function that directly supports Lifeblood’s ability to deliver the right consumables and services, at the right time and place, while maximising value, resilience and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic leadership and stakeholder influence, positioning Procurement as an early, trusted partner to the business and Executive leadership and leading organisational change that delivers lasting value.
- Commercial and operational excellence, driving value, cost optimisation, contract performance, process improvement and automation opportunities.
- Supplier performance, resilience and risk, establishing strong supplier partnerships while enhancing performance, continuity, governance and contract risk management.
- People, culture and capability, building a high-performing team with the skills, accountability and engagement to execute the Procurement strategy.
- Governance, sustainability and compliance, ensuring procurement practices are ethical, compliant, risk-aware and aligned to Lifeblood's Sustainability Roadmap and organisational priorities.
As Director Procurement, you will inspire confidence in the future, create clarity through complexity and build strong connections between people, purpose and performance.

- Significant leadership experience across procurement ideally within a complex, highly accountable or regulated organisation
- Proven people leadership capability, including coaching, performance management and leading through complexity and ambiguity
- Demonstrated success partnering directly with Executive Directors and senior leaders to influence strategic and commercial decisions.
- A commercially astute and strategically minded procurement leader who can operate confidently at enterprise level.
- An accomplished relationship builder who can earn the confidence of senior executives, direct reports and wider stakeholder teams.
- Proven track record creating sustainable value, managing risk, strengthening supply resilience and enabling the organisation to perform at its best
- In-depth experience leading organisational change and embedding new ways of working
