This role is classified as Level 5 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement with a pro-rata base salary range of $109,890 to $129,821. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Editor/Producer with solid long-form editing experience and scriptwriting skills for this full-time, 6 month contract opportunity.
In this role you will creatively edit half-hour documentary style episodes working closely with reporters and producers to make audience focused international current affairs.
You will be involved in the entire post-production process, from media management and ingest, to overseeing translations, scriptwriting, and editing, through to program delivery and archiving. There will be plenty of opportunity to be creative and to experiment with various visual storytelling styles.
We are looking for a compelling and innovative storyteller who can help make our content reach as many people as possible across all platforms.
This role is based in our Sydney HQ located in Artarmon. Hybrid working arrangements are available.
Due to the nature of the work, this role may involve exposure to distressing or traumatic content. SBS provides support and wellbeing resources to employees working in these environments.
About you

Experience editing long-form current affairs, factual TV, or documentary, with broadcast credits

Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and the wider Adobe Creative Cloud suite of apps

A high level of technical proficiency across Mac and PC computer systems.

Editorial skills with experience writing scripts for current affairs or factual TV

Fantastic written, verbal and interpersonal skills
