Cinebar Rosalie Village is looking for an experienced, hands-on Supervisor to help lead our front-of-house team and oversee the operation of our licensed dine-in cinema.
This is a practical floor-leadership role for someone who enjoys coordinating people, managing a busy service and maintaining high standards across the venue.
The Role
Cinebar combines cinema operations with restaurant-style food service and a licensed bar, so there can be a lot happening at the same time.
You’ll need to be comfortable coordinating a busy service where cinema cleaning, kitchen and bar delivery, POS service and customer arrivals are all happening at the same time.
You’ll need to monitor the whole venue, prioritise what needs attention, allocate staff effectively and adjust the team as service demands change.
Strong attention to detail is essential. You’ll be expected to delegate tasks, inspect completed work and make sure cinemas, floors, seating, bar areas and closing duties have genuinely been completed to standard before signing them off.
Good supervision at Cinebar means more than allocating jobs, it means following up, checking the result and making sure anything below standard is corrected.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate staff during service.
- Allocate staff across POS, bar, food delivery, cinema cleaning and other operational areas.
- Monitor workflow and move staff between areas as priorities change.
- Delegate tasks clearly and follow up on completion.
- Inspect cinemas, and public areas for cleanliness and presentation.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures.
- Assist with customer concerns and operational issues.
- Support Box Office procedures and shift controls.
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol and venue procedures are followed.
- Escalate issues to the Venue Manager when required.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- has previous supervisory, team-leader or comparable hospitality experience
- can stay organised while several service areas are operating at once
- has a strong eye for detail and notices when something is not up to standard
- is comfortable giving staff clear direction and following up
- can prioritise and reallocate staff during busy periods
- communicates confidently and respectfully with staff and customers and
- is willing to be hands-on when required without losing oversight of the wider venue.
Experience in restaurants, bars, hotels, cinemas, entertainment venues, functions or other busy multi-service environments would be particularly relevant.
Training & Support
You won’t be expected to know everything on day one. New Supervisors are introduced to the role gradually, with training initially undertaken on quieter shifts alongside experienced team members.
You’ll be given plenty of time to learn Cinebar’s systems, service flow, opening and closing
procedures, quality standards and the different areas of the venue before being expected to manage a busy shift independently.
We’re looking for the right leadership skills and attitude, we’ll teach you how Cinebar operates.
Availability
Cinema and hospitality trading is busiest during evenings, weekends, school holidays and public holidays, so suitable ongoing availability across these periods is essential.
Regular weekend and closing-shift availability will be required.
A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate is preferred, or you must be willing and eligible to obtain one.
About Cinebar

If you enjoy running a busy floor, coordinating a team and taking responsibility for making sure the details are right, we’d love to hear from you.
