About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director – AI Strategy Consultant to lead the development and execution of AI strategies and transformation initiatives for enterprise clients across Australia.
We are looking for a senior technology/strategy professional who has progressed into AI Strategy and Transformation leadership, Data & Analytics, Digital Transformation, and Enterprise Strategy with a strong understanding of enterprise business challenges and the ability to advise senior executives on how AI can create measurable business value.
Candidates with strong domain expertise in Telecommunications or Financial Services are highly preferred.

Salary: Starting from AU$195,000 per annum + superannuation, depending on experience and expertise
Experience: 15+ years overall professional experience
AI Strategy Experience: Minimum 1 year of direct AI Strategy / AI Transformation experience
Industry Experience: Telecom or Financial Services preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead enterprise AI strategies and AI transformation roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Work with C-level executives and senior stakeholders to define AI vision, strategy, priorities, and investment areas.
- Identify and assess opportunities for AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, automation, and intelligent business processes.
- Translate complex AI and technology capabilities into practical business outcomes and measurable value.
- Develop AI adoption and transformation frameworks across business functions.
- Evaluate AI use cases based on business value, technical feasibility, risk, compliance, and scalability.
- Provide strategic recommendations on AI platforms, technologies, operating models, and implementation approaches.
- Define AI governance, responsible AI, risk management, data governance, and compliance considerations.
- Support the development of business cases, investment proposals, AI roadmaps, and transformation programs.
- Collaborate with technology, data, cybersecurity, architecture, product, and business teams to ensure successful execution of AI initiatives.
- Lead workshops, executive presentations, strategy sessions, and AI transformation discussions with clients.
- Stay current with developments in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, Machine Learning, Data & Analytics, and enterprise AI platforms.
- Establish AI maturity assessments and recommend initiatives to improve organizational AI readiness.
- Mentor and guide senior consultants and cross-functional teams involved in AI strategy and transformation programs.
Required Experience & Skills
Professional Experience
- 15+ years of overall professional experience in technology, consulting, digital transformation, strategy, or related fields.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in AI Strategy, AI Transformation, or Enterprise AI Consulting.
- Strong experience working with senior leadership and enterprise clients.
- Proven experience developing and executing technology or digital transformation strategies.
Domain Expertise
Strong industry experience in at least one of the following:
- Telecommunications / Telecom
- Banking & Financial Services
- Insurance / FinTech is also desirable.
AI & Technology Knowledge
Strong understanding of:
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- AI Agents and intelligent automation
- Data & Analytics
- Cloud AI platforms
- Enterprise AI architecture and operating models
- AI governance and Responsible AI
- AI risk, security, privacy, and regulatory considerations
- Digital transformation and enterprise technology strategy
- Hands-on coding is not mandatory, but the candidate must possess sufficient technical understanding to engage effectively with enterprise architects, data scientists, engineers, and technology leadership.
