Arcana Brisbane, a unique warehouse-style event space just 7km from the CBD, is seeking a reliable, customer-focused, Australian-resident Bar & Front of House Manager to oversee Front of House operations and ensure a smooth, professional experience for our guests.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys leadership, event management, and customer service in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. On-site training supplied by Arcana’s Owner. Great opportunity to be mentored by a seasoned venue operator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Daily Operations: Manage the entire FOH event process — from setup, during event service, through to pack down.
- Operations Management: Coordinate with bar, kitchen, and event staff.
- Team Leadership: Delegate tasks, manage staff breaks, and support the team throughout the shift.
- Customer Service: Engage warmly with clients and guests, address queries, and ensure a positive experience at all times.
- Client Communication: Confirm bar tab details, food service times, microphone usage, and manage special requests.
- Safety Compliance: Be the primary contact for venue, client, and staff OHS matters. Work alongside security as required.
- Training and Development: Help with staff training, mentoring, and supporting team development where necessary.
- Issue Resolution: Handle guest complaints or incidents professionally and efficiently.
- Report Management: Complete shift reports, manage bar stock reporting, and communicate key information to senior management.
- Venue Coordination: Maintain cleanliness, manage music/lighting settings, and ensure the venue is presented at its best.
What We’re Looking For:
- Must be an Australian resident or hold a current, valid working visa.
- Reliability, excellent time management, and outstanding customer service skills are essential.
- Proven experience managing people in hospitality, events, or a similar environment.
- Strong leadership, delegation, and team management abilities.
- Confidence in handling high-pressure situations and resolving issues calmly.
- Solid understanding of food, liquor, noise, RSA, and licensing requirements.
- Must hold a valid QLD RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol).
- RMLV (Responsible Management of Licensed Venues) and First Aid Certificate highly regarded but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with event operations, bar, and kitchen coordination preferred.
Level 3 food and beverage attendant grade 3
As per the Pay Guide - Hospitality Industry (General) Award (MA000009).
Pay: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
