The Opportunity:
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping SPC Global’s approach to climate reporting and sustainability, while working across the business to build capability and drive meaningful change.
The Climate, Communications & Corporate Reporting Lead supports SPC Global in meeting its evolving corporate reporting, governance and stakeholder communication requirements, with a particular focus on climate-related financial reporting.
The role will lead the coordination and implementation of the Group’s climate reporting
requirements, working across the organisation to establish the governance, processes, data and supporting documentation required for effective and compliant disclosure.
The role will also support broader sustainability and ESG reporting, including modern slavery reporting, together with selected governance, corporate reporting and general internal and external communications activities.
Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary and working closely with Legal and Corporate Affairs team members along with Finance, People & Culture, Operations and other functions, the role will bring together information from across the Group and translate complex regulatory and business requirements into clear, accurate and timely reporting and communications
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the coordination and delivery of SPC Global’s mandatory climate-related financial reporting requirements.

Coordinate the development of climate-related disclosures across governance, strategy, risk management, metrics and targets.

Work with Finance and other functions to establish appropriate processes, data sources, controls, ownership and documentation to support reporting and assurance.

Coordinate climate risk and opportunity assessments, scenario analysis and other supporting activities.

Support appropriate management and Board governance and oversight of climate-related risks and opportunities.

Monitor changes to climate reporting standards, regulation and market practice and assess implications for the Group.

Coordinate relevant ESG and sustainability reporting requirements across the Group.

Lead the preparation and coordination of SPC Global’s Modern Slavery Statement and associated information gathering and reporting processes.

Support the development and maintenance of sustainability and responsible business frameworks, policies and reporting processes.

Coordinate responses to relevant stakeholder, customer, investor and other ESG-related information requests.

Support the ongoing development of the Group’s sustainability reporting approach as regulatory and business requirements evolve.

Support the General Counsel & Company Secretary with ASX and listed-company reporting and disclosure requirements, including coordination of relevant announcements, disclosures and supporting information.

Coordinate inputs to key corporate reporting, including the Annual Report, Corporate Governance Statement and other relevant disclosures.

Support the review, development and maintenance of governance policies, frameworks and associated reporting.

Monitor relevant regulatory and governance developments and support implementation of required changes.

Prepare and coordinate Board and Committee materials relating to matters within the role’s remit.

Provide general internal and external communications support across the business as required.

Draft, edit and coordinate a range of communications for employees, leaders and external stakeholders.

Support the preparation of corporate updates, announcements, presentations, website content and other communication materials.

Work collaboratively with the Head of Communications & Corporate Affairs to support delivery of communication priorities and ensure consistency of messaging and tone.

Assist with communication planning and coordination for key business initiatives, events and organisational updates.

Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects and workstreams, bringing together inputs from across the business to deliver agreed outcomes, reporting and governance requirements.

Drive project plans, timelines and accountabilities, proactively following up actions, resolving dependencies and maintaining momentum across multiple stakeholders.

Manage multiple workstreams, reporting cycles and deadlines with clear accountabilities and quality controls.

Coordinate external advisers and specialist providers as required.

Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, quality and maturity of climate, ESG, governance and corporate reporting processes.

The successful candidate will have:

Relevant tertiary qualification in sustainability, environmental management, finance, accounting, law, governance, communications, business or a related discipline.

Additional qualifications or professional development in climate reporting, sustainability, ESG, governance or corporate reporting will be highly regarded.

Strong knowledge of, or demonstrated experience working with, climate-related financial reporting requirements, including Australian sustainability reporting requirements and AASB S2.

Experience coordinating complex corporate, regulatory, sustainability or financial reporting processes involving multiple business functions.

Understanding of ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks and evolving regulatory requirements.

Knowledge of modern slavery reporting requirements and associated governance and due diligence processes.

Understanding of corporate governance principles and reporting requirements, ideally within an ASX-listed or similarly regulated environment.

Strong written communication and editing capability, with the ability to translate complex technical or regulatory information into clear and accessible content.

Strong project management, planning and coordination skills.

High level of attention to detail and confidence working with data, reporting frameworks, evidence and assurance processes.

Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with reporting and information management systems.

Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously and take ownership of complex workstreams.

Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and coordinate across functions without direct authority.

Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential, commercially sensitive or Board-level information.
