Restaurant Manager | Josef Chromy | Tasmania
Base Salary $87,000 + Super + Bonus + Group Wide Discounts
Tucked away in the rolling embrace of the Tamar Valley, 15 minutes from Launceston CBD and airport, Josef Chromy Wines delivers spectacular vineyard and lake views, whether from the dappled shade of the century-old gardens or from the contemporary restaurant’s expansive windows.
Nestled at the heart of the Josef Chromy estate is an immersive dining experience at our hatted restaurant. A cornerstone of the region, it’s a tourist must-do lunch spot on their Tamar Valley itinerary.
Executive Chef, Nick Raitt, leads the kitchen team in crafting every dish with heart and honesty, using only the best local produce available. From burgeoning tiny farms to artisanal producers, every plate is a testament to the rich tapestry of Northern Tasmania’s land and its people.
Central to our dining philosophy is the celebration of seasonality. By harnessing the freshest seasonal produce, we ensure that every bite is a reflection of the time of year, echoing the seasonal cycles of our winegrowing.
Dining at Josef Chromy Wines is about an exploration of Tasmania’s culinary heritage. It’s about tasting the love, dedication, and stories of a community that thrives on its land and you could be the conductor to this orchestra and leave your mark over your 12 month fixed term (maternity) contract.
This role would suit an experienced restuarant manager with finer dining history. Previous functions and events experience would be the cream on top.

A day in the life of a Restaurant Manager:
Team Captain: You'll be the go-to person for our crew – hiring new faces, showing them the ropes, and making sure everyone feels supported and thrives. Think of it as managing an awesome team where everyone brings their A-game.
Money Smart: You'll get to peek behind the curtain at the numbers – keeping an eye on costs, wages, and revenue. It's all about making smart financial moves.
Getting the Word Out: Got ideas on how to get more people through the door? You'll have a say in our marketing, helping us shout about what makes Joesef Chromy so special.
Smooth Sailing (Seating-wise): You'll be the wizard of bookings and reservations, making sure our guests get seated quickly and happily and efficiently during service.
Running the Show: This is where you pull it all together. You'll be overseeing everything that happens day-to-day, making sure we're always delivering top-notch service and keeping our quality sky-high
