Your new role
Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking an experienced and motivated finance leader to join our Finance team as Coordinator Accounting Services.
In this role, you will provide high-level accounting, financial, and managerial support within the Finance section, and in conjunction coordinate the annual budget and revisions, external financial reporting and audit processes. Through the provision of timely and accurate reporting, you will support informed decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your primary focus will be on cultivating a high-performing, results-oriented team by managing the unit's various functions and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Degree qualifications in Accounting, together with demonstrated leadership experience in a large and diverse organisation, preferably within Local Government.
- Strong experience in budgeting, financial reporting, long-term planning, and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams while driving accountability and continuous improvement.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide high-level financial advice to a broad range of stakeholders.

Application Criteria
- Degree Qualification in an accounting field with extensive experience within a large corporate financial environment with experience within all facets of accounting.
- Proven ability to apply high-level financial planning, including the development of long-term financial forecasts, and demonstrated financial analytical skills to support informed decision-making.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead, guide and motivate your team to plan and deliver day-to-day and long-term objectives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and excellence.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build strong working relationships across multi-faceted groups to achieve corporate outcomes.
