We're looking for an Accountant with 4+ years in Australian public practice who wants to own their client portfolio, mentor junior staff, and have a real say in how we operate.
What you'll actually do:
- Prepare financial statements and tax returns for a diverse portfolio (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs)
- Manage BAS, IAS, and compliance obligations end-to-end
- Use HandiLedger, HandiTax, Xero, and MYOB to deliver efficient, accurate work
- Be the primary client contact for advice and queries—building relationships that last
- Review and mentor junior team members, helping them grow
- Contribute to the firm's continuous improvement—we value your input
What you'll bring:
- 4+ years in an Australian public practice (essential).
- Strong HandiLedger & HandiTax experience (essential—we use these daily).
- Practical experience with SMSF compliance.
- Xero & MYOB proficiency (2+ years practical experience).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Experience with GST and margin scheme (preferred but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation legislation, and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional team environment.
